This is a busy month. Busy with reading, grading (stupid) students' assignment, my own syntax assignment, driving to Toronto, etc...

Finally my Aunt left. Very peacefully. On the surface, it is a sad event. However, if we see it from a deeper level, it is a resolution to both of her and the family. Sometimes, it is quite ridiculous that the only time the whole family, as well as the other friends, can meet/play/share together is either during a red-event or a white-event. I know it is life.

Luckily, my work is getting more and more busier after the completion of the white-event, otherwise, It would be hard for me to see her weekly (though many of my relatives ask me no need to come every week if I have many things to handle).

During my reading of Adorno's writings:

That's Adorno's desire to go back to Germany rather than staying in the United States:

"At no moment during my emigration did I relinquish the hope of coming back. . . . I simply wanted to go back to the place where I spent my childhood, where what is specifically mine was imparted to the very core. Perhaps I sensed that whatever one accomplishes in life as little other than the attempt to regain childhood."

His comment on the United States:

"because it has produced nothing but refrigerators and automobiles while Germany produced the culture of the spirit."
